October 11, 2005 - BioPAX listed in the KnowledgeZone
August 22, 2005 - The release candidate 2 for Level 2 was posted. Level 2 expands BioPAX
to cover molecular interaction data.

June 25, 2005 - A BioPAX face-to-face meeting was held in Detroit at the ISMB 2005 conference.
Notes from the meeting have been
posted on the BioPAX Wiki.
June 24, 2005 - The BioPAX
Wiki, a collection of user-editable
web pages on various aspects of the BioPAX project, is now available.
April 27, 2005 - Level 1, version 1.4 released. Adds
ID-VERSION slot to xref class and makes DIRECTION slot
optional in catalysis class. Backward compatible with all with Level 1,
version 1.2.
April 13, 2005 - Level 2, version 0.9 (the beta version of Level 2) was posted. Level 2 expands BioPAX
to cover molecular interaction data.
March 2, 2005 - A BioPAX interest group is forming in Boston, MA. The
group,
BioPAX-Boston, is open to all and will meet monthly to discuss
BioPAX development and implementation issues.
January 21, 2005 - A BioPAX face-to-face meeting was held in New York City at Memorial Sloan-Kettering.

11/19/04 - Level 1, version 1.2 released. Adds additional support for description logic reasoning. Backward compatible with Level 1, version 1.0.
11/11/04 - Kitty ter Stege, Thomas Kelder, and Gijs Huisman from the
Technial University of Eindhoven contributed this tutorial on how
to create a BioPAX pathway with the Jena API.
8/24/04 - The BioPAX poster and presentations from ISMB-04 are now available on the Documents page.
8/2/04 - A BOF session on BioPAX and the creation of a shared
pathway data resource was held at ISMB-04.
7/7/04 - The Pathway Resource
List (PRL), a catalog of pathway data resources, is now available
online.
7/7/04 - Level 1, version 1 of BioPAX was made available in OWL format. This is the
first production release of BioPAX.
2/10/04 - RDF and OWL are now official W3C language recommendations. BioPAX is mentioned on the OWL implementation page.
2/5/04 - Level 1, version 0.5.2 was released. This version of the initial draft release is compatible with Protege
2.0.
12/8/03 - A BioPAX meeting was held in Denver, Colorado. At
this meeting we finalized the scope and composition of BioPAX Level 1,
and outlined the features of BioPAX Level 2 and beyond.
10/3/03 - A BioPAX meeting was held at Memorial Sloan-Kettering
Cancer Center in New York, New York. At this meeting we resolved several open ontology issues.
9/24/03 - Level 1, version 0.5 was released. This was a draft
release, intended to provide a preview of the BioPAX data exchange format
in order to generate discussion and feedback from the biopathway
community.
6/30/03 - A report on the progress of the BioPAX group was
presented at ISMB-03 in Brisbane, Australia. Two Birds-of-a-Feather
meetings were subsequently held, in which biopathway and
bioontology community members discussed various aspects of the
project, such as use cases and the formation of new
subgroups.
5/23/03 - The fourth BioPAX meeting was held at Memorial
Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York. By the end of the
meeting, a class hierarchy for the Level 1 BioPAX ontology had been agreed
upon.
